Google is probably the most popular search site on the web, used for finding just about everything we need on the internet. It's quick, easy and simple to use, and most of the time we find what we need in the first one or two result pages. But what if I told you that you're not really using Google as you should? It turns out that Google has a few special tricks that will make your life a whole lot easier: 

1. Remove words from your search results
Let's say you are looking for bread recipes but you don't want any with "yeast" as an ingredient. All you need to do is type your desired search terms normally and then add a minus sign (-) followed by the words you want excluded without a space. It should look like this in the search bar: bread recipes -yeast.
2. Look up related words and synonyms
This is a simple way for finding out other ways for saying something if you want to use the same word twice in one sentence, and you don’t want it to sound weird. In the Google search bar put a tilde mark (~, normally located next to the 1 key on the top left of the keyboard) in front of the search term you want to find synonyms for.
3. Google can help you define a word
Type "define:" (with both " marks) followed by the word, and Google will take you straight to the definition. Use this to catch anyone trying to cheat on Scrabble and get fast definitions for words you don’t know.
4. Search for the exact order of words
If you are looking for the origin of a quote or a song you can only remember one line from, this is the just what you need to find what you are looking for. Simply put your search phrase inside quotation marks and search.
5. Search for items in a specific price range
If you are looking for something to buy but you don't want Google to show you all the price options, simply use this handy little trick. First type in your term, let's say phone, and after that type the lowest and highest prices you're willing to pay with two periods (..). The end result should look like this: Phone 100$..200$. The more accurate the item you are looking for will be, the better results you will get.
6. Limit your search to a website
If you once read a good article on a site and you can't remember its name and how you got there, it's very easy to find it again.
7. Search for a GIFA GIF is a type on animated picture file looping over and over like a very short (mostly poor quality) video. Finding GIFs is as easy as using the Google images search. Go to Google Images, type what you are looking for, click "Search tools" and "Type". A small drop down list will appear, select "Animated" and search. The results you'll get might look like normal pictures at first, but press on any of them and you will see their animation.
8. Setting a timer
Not really a search option, but still a very useful feature if you want to remind yourself to take a break or to take something out of the oven. Type "set timer for" into the search bar and you will see the Google timer as your first result. Enter the time you want in hours, minutes or seconds, and start the timer. Google will start beeping when the time runs out.
9. Do math
This one is really straight forward, type in an equation in the search bar and Google will give you the answer on its calculator. If possible, you can copy-paste the equation to the search bar to make your life easier.
10. Search for a file type and not just a website
If you are looking for a Word file, a PowerPoint presentation or something similar this will make your search faster and much more accurate. Enter your search terms followed by "filetype: PPT". PPT is the file type for PowerPoint, DOC is for most Word files and if you are looking for other kinds of files, just Google their file type initials.
11. Convert currency
Much like doing math for you, Google can also tell the value of different currencies and help you prepare for that trip abroad. Type the name of the currency you own, add "to" and type the name of the currency you want to get in return. Keep in mind that many places trading with foreign coin take a commission and Google can't calculate that.     
12. Search for something you forgot
If a part of your search is unknown or forgotten, you can use Google to fill in the blanks. Enter your search terms using asterisks (*) as stand-ins for the unknowns. It can also be used to answer simple question such as searching for: When you are in Rome be sure to visit *.

It seems as though some people are born with confidence and others have to work hard to build theirs up. I fall into the building category. When I was younger it was tough building self confidence. I was always comparing myself to others and always looking at the negatives – what I lacked – as opposed to what I brought to the table.
As I have gotten older though, building self confidence has become easier. I don’t know it if is because I have stopped comparing myself to others (or maybe that is a byproduct) but I’ve found some useful tips that have really helped in building self confidence. Today, I want to share with you the 15 that I have found to work best for me. Not all may be the magic elixir for you, but I am certain that some of these tips will help you build your self confidence as well.

15 Tips To Help In Building Self Confidence

Take Care Of Yourself

This is #1 for a reason. As you will see from the rest of the list, self confidence comes from within. If you are looking for outside sources to build your self confidence, you are going to fail miserably. So, you HAVE to work on and take care of yourself.
I’m not saying you have to have the body of supermodel, but you need to take care of yourself. Exercise and eat well. It all comes down to simply making smarter choices in life. And they don’t have to be huge life altering ones either.
I bought myself a fitness tracker and began tracking my daily steps. The recommended amount is 10,000. I thought I was active (even though I sit at a desk all day) and set out for that goal. To say I was surprised when I was barely hitting 5,000 steps is an understatement! It really opened my eyes to how much I sit all day long while working.
I now average close to 12,000 a day. All I did was make a few small changes to my day that have become routine. For example:
  • I park a little further away from the store when I go shopping
  • I periodically get out of my chair throughout the day and take a brief walk for 3 minutes
  • I take stairs over escalators
These simple things help me to get more steps in and be more active. When it comes to eating, you might have to be a little more drastic. Start eating more real food and less processed foods. It will be easy at first when you are motivated, but you will get cravings soon afterwards. This is just your body going through withdraw. If you can push through the cravings, you will come out stronger on the other side.

Stand Tall

Take note as to how you walk. If you have a hard time seeing how you walk, have a friend record you walking. You may be surprised. Are your shoulders slumped? Is your head down? This is how someone walks who doesn’t have confidence. Stand up tall with your head up when you walk. Here is a great guide to walking properly.


Learn to smile. It’s crazy that I say learn to smile but many of us don’t smile that much. When you see someone, smile and say hello. Better yet, just walk around with a smile on your face. Just doing this will make you instantly feel happier inside and will do wonders for your self confidence. In fact, if you stop here and just make these 3 points habits, you will be well on your way to building self confidence.

Look People In The Eye

Nothing shows others that you have confidence like looking them in the eye when you talk to them. Additionally, when you do this while they are talking to you, it shows that you are really paying attention to them and what they are saying. Of course, make sure you blink and don’t stare when looking someone in the eye.

Change Your Habits

What are you doing that is causing you to lack confidence? Are you scared of speaking in public? Instead of hiding when you are called upon in the office or in class, make it a habit of getting past your fear and speak up.
Maybe your lack of confidence comes from being overweight. Instead of giving in to your craving for a pizza, go for a walk instead or have a tall glass of water. Both of these will help you to get over your urge and will help you to build confidence.

Think Positive

Many times we have a lack of confidence because we fear or doubt an outcome to an event. Instead of thinking negatively about an outcome, think positively. Think of the great things that will come out of it. In the off chance that it doesn’t turn out as you planned, don’t get discouraged. Instead, look at the bright side. Maybe you didn’t get that new job, but there could be better fit for you right around the corner. You never know, so don’t get discouraged so easily.
When you can find the positives in all situations, you lose your fear and this is a great step in building self confidence.


Helping others in need is another great activity that helps to build self confidence. I know when I do good for others, I feel amazing. That feeling stays with me for days on end. In fact, it is so powerful I included it in my 30 Days To Positive Thinking course.
Remember, you can volunteer your time and skills to great causes. It doesn’t have to be money.


Always strive to learn. If there is something you have an interest in, learn more about it. You can learn more about it for free through books from your library, online resources and guides and even at colleges. There are plenty of colleges that offer free, no credit courses in a variety of fields. As you learn more and more, your confidence in the subject matter grows and so does your overall confidence as well.

Do Something You Keep Putting Off

One simple way to build self confidence is to do the things we have been procrastinating on. Regardless of what the thing is, we are putting it off for a reason. Getting it done and off of your to-do list is a great shot of motivation.
I know for me, there are plenty of little things around the house I have to get to. I always put them off, even though they are easy to do and will take little time. When I finally do get around to doing one or two, I get on a roll and start knocking them all out. It’s amazing how good it feels to get them off my plate. Even though they aren’t big things, they still weigh me down.

Do Something That Scares You

This trick to building self confidence is related to the above. Write down a list of things that scare you and start knocking them off the list. I did this a few years ago. Each month, I had to do something that scared me. One time it was looking out the window on the plane (I hate flying). Another time it was walking down a stairway on the side of a mountain.
While they scared me at the time, they helped me to build my self confidence. When I fly, I look out the window all the time now. It might not seem like a good idea at first to challenge yourself in this way, but it is a great way to build your self confidence.

Stop Talking Negatively

Many times we put ourselves down by talking negative. We tell ourselves we can’t do this or are unable to do that. Stop putting yourself down with negative talk and lift yourself up with positive words of encouragement. When you try and fail, instead of saying “I can’t do this”, say that in time I will be able to do this, I just need more practice.
By simply changing our words, we have a huge impact on our feelings and mood. In fact, I talked about how these are all related in a previous post.

Stop Caring What Others Think

Related again to the above point, stop caring what others think. You aren’t out to please others, your goal is to please yourself and be happy. What makes you happy won’t make others happy most of the time. So you can either be miserable and make them happy, or just focus on your own happiness. Since you have to deal with yourself 24 hours a day, I suggest you make it a point to make you happy.
While it will be hard at first and you might disappoint them, they will get over it and so will you. As is said, you have to live with yourself, so you might as well be happy otherwise life will not be much fun.

Rationalize Your Doubts

Many times we get scared or worried and let our doubts control us. We let our minds go to the worst case scenario and allow that to determine whether or not we do something. If you are always allowing fear to rule you, you will never be self confident. Learn to rationalize your doubts.
Next time you have a doubt, go ahead and think of the worst case scenario. Then stop and think about how likely that outcome will be. Odds are it will be rare. Once you realize this, you can start thinking more positively about the outcomes.
I know for me, if I look back at the times I doubted something, 99% of the time the worst case scenario never came true. This fact alone gives me confidence to try things because I know that the odds are against the worst possible outcome.

Grow From Failing

If you hold yourself back because you are afraid to fail, I am here to tell you to go fail. Fail gloriously. Failing is the absolute best thing that can happen to you. It helps you to build character and grow not only as person but also helps in building self confidence.
As long as you look at your failures to see what you did wrong and make a change for the better, failing is a great thing. I’ve failed many times in life and I will fail many more times. I don’t let it control me or determine what I do. I know that failing is important and as a result, I don’t fear it. Ideally I want to succeed, but even if I fail, I know that I am one step closer to succeeding than if I never tried at all.

Change The Company You Keep

This is the hardest option for building self confidence and so it comes last. If you are hanging out with negative people that lack confidence, you will mimic them and be just like them. Because of this, you have to be smart with who you spend your time with.
Hang out and be friends with people that encourage you and push you to be your best. Stop hanging out with people that hold you back or put you or others down. It might be hard at first to pull away from these people, especially if you’ve been friends for a long time, but it is the best thing for you.
Remember, you only get one shot at life. You can either be miserable with others or you can be your best and live life to the fullest and be happy. It’s your choice, so you can’t get upset if life doesn’t turn out the way you want. In the long run, getting toxic people out of your life is the best thing you can do.

If you do this, you will notice a change in your life. he way to find confidence is to look for challenge. Rock solid confidence and lasting self esteem cannot be handed to you, no matter how well intentioned your benefactor may be. Confidence and self esteem come from the direct experience of meeting challenges.

Confidence is well worth the trouble. With confidence in yourself, anything is possible. But confidence cannot be created out of nothing. Try to do that and you'll only get arrogance, a poor substitute which crumbles at the first tough challenge.

India is realizing the dream of manufacturing world’s cheapest phone by shipping the first batch of its Freedom 251 smartphone that will cost just $4 or some PKR 390.
Ringing Bells, that’s the name of the company behind Freedom 251 smartphone, said that it will ship some 200,000 Freedom 251 smartphones on June 30th, 2016 for those customers who pre-ordered their devices back in February 2016.
Freedom 251 will cost mere 251 Indian rupees or around PKR 390 for a four inch smartphone that will run on Android.

Company behind the phone was severally criticized at the time for claiming an impossible selling price. It was largely labelled as a hoax as experts had said that no smartphone could be manufactured below USD 20.
It now appears that criticism was not entirely wrong, as company is going to lose money on each smartphone it will ship. However, it may make profits down the line as scale of production will increase after the shipment of first batch.
Mohit Goel, the founder and CEO of Ringing Bells, while speaking with Indian Express said:
“We will have a loss, but I am happy that the dream of connecting rural and poor Indians as part of the Digital India and Make in India initiatives has been fulfilled with Freedom 251.”
Company is planning to open further pre-orders after the shipment of first batch on June 30th.

At age 5 his Father died.

Moral of the story: Attitude. It's never too late to start all over.

When it comes to making money, the most valuable skill you can have is the skill of producing profits. If you know how to do that, you will never have to worry about supporting yourself. The person who knows how to get and keep a business going will always be secure -- and can quickly become rich.

But what if producing profits is not a skill that you want to learn?

How Do You Want to Make Your Millions?

I've said many times that to become wealthy you need to learn and  practice a financially valuable skill -- and most such skills have  something to do with helping a business make money. There is virtually no limit to the amount of money you can make if you become skillful at one of these trades:

·        CEO
·        profit-center manager
·        marketer
·        copywriter
·        consultant
·        salesperson
Another category of financially valuable skills has to do with professions that are focused on certain specific areas of law. Notice that I said "specific areas" of law. Why? Because, in general, law doesn't pay as much as you might think! Most people are shocked to discover that the average attorney makes less than $60,000 per year. But certain fields of law pay very well. Estate-planning lawyers, for example, make a half-million or more.

The point is: If you want to make lots and lots of money (I'm talking about $200,000, $500,000, or more than $1 million), you'd best know how to produce profits.

That begs the question "If I can't stand that kind of work, how much can I expect to make practicing other skills?"

The short answer: a good deal less. Most architects, engineers, plumbers, technicians, and other highly trained professionals make about $70,000 or $80,000 a year. Some of them make more than that -- often twice as much. But then some make less -- sometimes half as much. Teachers make less. As do pastors. And rabbis. And artists. And  philosophers.

There is, ironically, an inverse relationship between the value of the work you do and what people are willing to pay you for doing it. It may not be fair, but it is true. So if you want a realistic chance of getting rich, you need to be realistic about what lines of work will get you there.

I bring this up because one of the more common problems I encounter when counseling people on their wealth-building goals is a completely whacky idea about what they can make for doing what. "George," for example, a friend I've been working with recently, has given me the following ideas about how he'd like to get rich:
·        run a restaurant
·        captain a fishing boat
·        be my personal assistant
·        manage an oceanfront resort
All of those jobs have their benefits. But if you had to place them on a list of professions arranged according to compensation, they would fall pretty far down the line. None of them would break into the six figures.

That doesn't mean you can't get rich -- or, if not rich, at least financially secure -- by doing something that makes you happy. But sailing around the Caribbean . . . piloting someone's million-dollar yacht . . . and getting paid a king's ransom for doing so?

Today's Action Plan:

Take a moment today to consider, frankly, the income potential of your current job. How much is the top person in your company paid? And the top person in your industry?

If you are not satisfied with that kind of money or don't believe you can be as good as or better than those people, you'd better start thinking about making a change. You don't have to jump ship immediately, but it would help to begin educating yourself about financially valuable skills you could develop.

Feelings of sadness and depression can creep in out of nowhere. One day you may wake up feeling like a different person than you did the day before. It’s hard to make it through the day, everything seems negative, you feel like a huge weight is on your shoulders, you feel uneasy, anxious, and hopeless – often for no obvious reason.

Most of the time people tend to go one of two ways when it comes to eating when they’re depressed: overeating junk food for comfort, or avoiding food altogether. While neither of these tactics will truly relieve depression, there are some foods out there that can fight the depressive feelings and help bring you back to a state of peace.
First of all, to decipher which foods can come to the rescue, we must know – what is depression, chemically speaking? Well, according to Psych Central, “monoamines” are low in the brain during depressive episodes. Monoamines are mood-related chemicals like serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine.
So if you’re feeling depressed and you do, in fact, have an appetite, it would make sense to eat foods that can increase the above mentioned chemicals in your brain.
Here are a few foods that win the gold medal in the depression-fighting category:
Flaxseeds/Flaxseed oil - contains tryptophan and omega-3 fatty acids, which increases serotonin production. Put some ground up flaxseeds in your salad or oatmeal. You can also take flaxseed oil capsules.
Fish oils, salmon, tuna - high in omega-3s, both fish oil capsules and fish like salmon or tuna can increase your serotonin levels and lower anxiety levels. Sushi, anyone?
Bananas - high in tryptophan for serotonin production. Eat ‘em up.
Raw Cacao - we all know that chocolate can be a mood-lifter, but the sugar crash that comes with conventional chocolate can have the opposite effect on your mood. Eating raw chocolate (dairy-free, sweetened with agave nectar instead of sugar) is a much better choice. Check your local health food store, or try my all-time favorite brand, Fine and Raw.

Watermelon: high in vitamin B6, which helps manufacture serotonin and dopamine in the brain. Choose watermelon over your regular dessert, or drink a tall glass of 100% watermelon juice. Yum!
Protein-rich foods like beans, eggs, and tofu - contains tryosine, which increases norepinephrine and contributes to positive mood.
Sunflower seeds – high in folic acid, a building block of serotonin and norepinephrine.
Spinach - another one for folic acid, omega-3s, and B vitamins. Fix yourself a big spinach salad or substitute spinach for whatever lettuce you use in sandwiches.
Brown rice - Vitamins B1, B3 and folic acid. Brown rice is also a low-glycemic food that release glucose into the bloodstream gradually. A smarter, mood-lifting alternative to refined, white carbs.

Sweet Potatoes - help tryptophan go to work producing serotonin in the body by raising insulin levels. Sweet potatoes are a great alternative to white potatoes because they have a lower glycemic index, which means they don’t cause a spike in blood sugar or the accompanying mood swings.
Quite the appetizing list! While depression is complicated and often mulit-faceted, these tasty additions to your diet may help to elevate the dark moods. Eat up and smile.

t's important to develop your abilities. But there's no sense in developing them unless you also put them to use. Get ready. Prepare. Become competent. And then be sure to make something of it.

You must not only ask, "what do I need?" You must also ask, "what will I do with it?" It is easy to get sidetracked into developing more and more capabilities, until they are far beyond what is necessary to get the job done.

Excellence comes from preparation, yet the excellence is not in the preparation alone. It is nothing without the performance. Learn and rehearse your lines, then walk on stage to face the audience. Train and practice, then step onto the competitive field of play. Write, revise, and edit, then publish your work for the world to see.

Prepare with diligence, and then do the thing you've prepared so well to do.

At the point of death a man, Tom Smith, 
called his children and after praying for them, 
he advised them to follow his footsteps so
 that they can have peace of mind in all that they do.

The youngest child, Immaculate, a female, looked at others and yelled, 
"Daddy, its unfortunate you are dying without a penny in your bank account, 
personally, I can't emulate you. Other father's that you tag as being corrupt,
 thieves of public funds left houses and properties for their children;
 even this house we live in is a rented apartment, sorry, 
i can't emulate you, just go, let's chart our own course, 
let's paddle our own canoe."  
Few moments later, their father gave up the spirit.

Three years later, Immaculate went for an interview in a 
multinational company. The interview panel had already penciled 
down a candidate for the highly coveted post but wanted to complete
 the formality of interviewing all applicants on the list.

 As soon as Immaculate sat before the interview panel, 
the Chairman of the committee asked, 
"Which Smith is yours" and  
Immaculate replied, 
"I am Immaculate Smith. My Dad Tom Smith  is now late he died a poor man..."

But the Chairman cuts in, 
"O my God, you are Tom Smith's daughter? " 
He turned to other members and said 
"This Smith man was the one that signed my membership form
 into the Institute of Chartered Administrators and his 
recommendation earned me where I am today. 
He did all these free. I didn't even know his address, 
he never knew me from Adam. He just did it for me."

He turned to Immaculate, I have no question for you, 
consider yourself as having gotten this job, resume tomorrow, 
your letter will be waiting for you.

Immaculate Smith became the Corporate Affairs Manager of the 
company with two cars, one official and one for private use, 
attached to the office, with a duplex and two drivers and a salary of
 £100,000 per month excluding allowances and other
 costs when she travelled outside England.

After two years of working in the company, 
the Group Managing Director of the company came from 
America to announce his intention to resign and needed a
replacement. A personality with high integrity was sought after, 
again the company's Consultant nominated Immaculate Smith.

In an interview, she was asked the secret of her success and 
the sudden sky rocketing profile and in tears, she replied, 
my Daddy paved these ways for me. It was after he died that I knew 
that he was financially poor but stinkingly rich in 
integrity, discipline and honesty. 

She was asked again, why she is weeping since she is no longer 
a kid as to miss her dad still after a long time. 
She replied, 
"At the point of death, I insulted my dad for being an honest man 
of integrity. I hope he will forgive me in his grave now. 
I didn't work for all these, he did it for me to just walk in.

So finally she was asked,
" Will you follow your father's foot steps as he requested? 
And her simple answer was, 
"l now adore the man, I have a big picture of him in my living room and
 at the entrance of my house. He deserves whatever I have after God.

It pays to build a name, the reward doesn't come quickly but
 it will come however long it may take and it lasts longer.

Integrity, discipline, self control and fear of God makes 
man wealthy, not the fat bank account.
