Story of KFC


At age 5 his Father died.
At age 16 he quit school.
At age 17 he had already lost four jobs.
At age 18 he got married.
Between ages 18 and 22, he was a railroad conductor and failed.
He joined the army
and washed out there.

He applied for law school he was rejected.
He became an insurance sales man and failed again.
At age 19 he became a father.
At age 20 his wife left him and took their baby daughter.
He became a cook and dishwasher in a small cafe.
He failed in an attempt to kidnap his own daughter, and eventually he convinced his wife to return home.
At age 65 he retired.
On the 1st day of retirement he received a cheque from the Government for $105.

He felt that the Government was saying that he couldn’t provide for himself.
He decided to commit suicide, it wasn’t worth living anymore; he had failed so much.

He sat under a tree writing his will, but instead, he wrote what he would have accomplished with his life. He realised there was much more that he hadn’t done. There was one thing he could do better than anyone he knew. And that was how to cook.

So he borrowed $87 against his cheque and bought and fried up some chicken using his recipe, and went door to door to sell them to his neighbors in Kentucky.

Remember at age 65 he was ready to commit suicide.

But at age 88 Colonel Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Empire was a billionaire.

Moral of the story: Attitude. It's never too late to start all over.
You have what it takes to be successful. Go for it and make a difference.

Today's Inspirtion: Keep Yourself Above Your Circumstances

No circumstance has the power to distract you from the direction you have chosen. Anything that knocks you off track does so because you have allowed it to. Keep in mind that you give power to your circumstances. You imbue them with your life, your purpose and your meaning. They are your reflection, not your essence.

The world around you can influence you to the extent that you allow it. There is a part of you that no one, no thing can ever touch without your participation. The direction in which you point and focus that essential core of your being will largely determine the quality of your life.

Pain and pleasure may both be quite compelling, yet they are outside of who you really are. Circumstances may be very alluring or terribly frightening, yet you exist beyond those circumstances. Keep that ever in mind, and be true to your greatest possibilities.

How Do You Want to Make Your Millions?

When it comes to making money, the most valuable skill you can have is the skill of producing profits. If you know how to do that, you will never have to worry about supporting yourself. The person who knows how to get and keep a business going will always be secure -- and can quickly become rich.

But what if producing profits is not a skill that you want to learn?

How Do You Want to Make Your Millions?

I've said many times that to become wealthy you need to learn and  practice a financially valuable skill -- and most such skills have  something to do with helping a business make money. There is virtually no limit to the amount of money you can make if you become skillful at one of these trades:

·        CEO
·        profit-center manager
·        marketer
·        copywriter
·        consultant
·        salesperson
Another category of financially valuable skills has to do with professions that are focused on certain specific areas of law. Notice that I said "specific areas" of law. Why? Because, in general, law doesn't pay as much as you might think! Most people are shocked to discover that the average attorney makes less than $60,000 per year. But certain fields of law pay very well. Estate-planning lawyers, for example, make a half-million or more.

The point is: If you want to make lots and lots of money (I'm talking about $200,000, $500,000, or more than $1 million), you'd best know how to produce profits.

That begs the question "If I can't stand that kind of work, how much can I expect to make practicing other skills?"

The short answer: a good deal less. Most architects, engineers, plumbers, technicians, and other highly trained professionals make about $70,000 or $80,000 a year. Some of them make more than that -- often twice as much. But then some make less -- sometimes half as much. Teachers make less. As do pastors. And rabbis. And artists. And  philosophers.

There is, ironically, an inverse relationship between the value of the work you do and what people are willing to pay you for doing it. It may not be fair, but it is true. So if you want a realistic chance of getting rich, you need to be realistic about what lines of work will get you there.

I bring this up because one of the more common problems I encounter when counseling people on their wealth-building goals is a completely whacky idea about what they can make for doing what. "George," for example, a friend I've been working with recently, has given me the following ideas about how he'd like to get rich:
·        run a restaurant
·        captain a fishing boat
·        be my personal assistant
·        manage an oceanfront resort
All of those jobs have their benefits. But if you had to place them on a list of professions arranged according to compensation, they would fall pretty far down the line. None of them would break into the six figures.

That doesn't mean you can't get rich -- or, if not rich, at least financially secure -- by doing something that makes you happy. But sailing around the Caribbean . . . piloting someone's million-dollar yacht . . . and getting paid a king's ransom for doing so?

Today's Action Plan:

Take a moment today to consider, frankly, the income potential of your current job. How much is the top person in your company paid? And the top person in your industry?

If you are not satisfied with that kind of money or don't believe you can be as good as or better than those people, you'd better start thinking about making a change. You don't have to jump ship immediately, but it would help to begin educating yourself about financially valuable skills you could develop.

Foods That Fight Depression

Feelings of sadness and depression can creep in out of nowhere. One day you may wake up feeling like a different person than you did the day before. It’s hard to make it through the day, everything seems negative, you feel like a huge weight is on your shoulders, you feel uneasy, anxious, and hopeless – often for no obvious reason.

Most of the time people tend to go one of two ways when it comes to eating when they’re depressed: overeating junk food for comfort, or avoiding food altogether. While neither of these tactics will truly relieve depression, there are some foods out there that can fight the depressive feelings and help bring you back to a state of peace.
First of all, to decipher which foods can come to the rescue, we must know – what is depression, chemically speaking? Well, according to Psych Central, “monoamines” are low in the brain during depressive episodes. Monoamines are mood-related chemicals like serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine.
So if you’re feeling depressed and you do, in fact, have an appetite, it would make sense to eat foods that can increase the above mentioned chemicals in your brain.
Here are a few foods that win the gold medal in the depression-fighting category:
Flaxseeds/Flaxseed oil - contains tryptophan and omega-3 fatty acids, which increases serotonin production. Put some ground up flaxseeds in your salad or oatmeal. You can also take flaxseed oil capsules.
Fish oils, salmon, tuna - high in omega-3s, both fish oil capsules and fish like salmon or tuna can increase your serotonin levels and lower anxiety levels. Sushi, anyone?
Bananas - high in tryptophan for serotonin production. Eat ‘em up.
Raw Cacao - we all know that chocolate can be a mood-lifter, but the sugar crash that comes with conventional chocolate can have the opposite effect on your mood. Eating raw chocolate (dairy-free, sweetened with agave nectar instead of sugar) is a much better choice. Check your local health food store, or try my all-time favorite brand, Fine and Raw.

Watermelon: high in vitamin B6, which helps manufacture serotonin and dopamine in the brain. Choose watermelon over your regular dessert, or drink a tall glass of 100% watermelon juice. Yum!
Protein-rich foods like beans, eggs, and tofu - contains tryosine, which increases norepinephrine and contributes to positive mood.
Sunflower seeds – high in folic acid, a building block of serotonin and norepinephrine.
Spinach - another one for folic acid, omega-3s, and B vitamins. Fix yourself a big spinach salad or substitute spinach for whatever lettuce you use in sandwiches.
Brown rice - Vitamins B1, B3 and folic acid. Brown rice is also a low-glycemic food that release glucose into the bloodstream gradually. A smarter, mood-lifting alternative to refined, white carbs.

Sweet Potatoes - help tryptophan go to work producing serotonin in the body by raising insulin levels. Sweet potatoes are a great alternative to white potatoes because they have a lower glycemic index, which means they don’t cause a spike in blood sugar or the accompanying mood swings.
Quite the appetizing list! While depression is complicated and often mulit-faceted, these tasty additions to your diet may help to elevate the dark moods. Eat up and smile.

Capability and Performance

t's important to develop your abilities. But there's no sense in developing them unless you also put them to use. Get ready. Prepare. Become competent. And then be sure to make something of it.

You must not only ask, "what do I need?" You must also ask, "what will I do with it?" It is easy to get sidetracked into developing more and more capabilities, until they are far beyond what is necessary to get the job done.

Excellence comes from preparation, yet the excellence is not in the preparation alone. It is nothing without the performance. Learn and rehearse your lines, then walk on stage to face the audience. Train and practice, then step onto the competitive field of play. Write, revise, and edit, then publish your work for the world to see.

Prepare with diligence, and then do the thing you've prepared so well to do.

Story: Immaculate Smith & Tom Smith

At the point of death a man, Tom Smith, 
called his children and after praying for them, 
he advised them to follow his footsteps so
 that they can have peace of mind in all that they do.

The youngest child, Immaculate, a female, looked at others and yelled, 
"Daddy, its unfortunate you are dying without a penny in your bank account, 
personally, I can't emulate you. Other father's that you tag as being corrupt,
 thieves of public funds left houses and properties for their children;
 even this house we live in is a rented apartment, sorry, 
i can't emulate you, just go, let's chart our own course, 
let's paddle our own canoe."  
Few moments later, their father gave up the spirit.

Three years later, Immaculate went for an interview in a 
multinational company. The interview panel had already penciled 
down a candidate for the highly coveted post but wanted to complete
 the formality of interviewing all applicants on the list.

 As soon as Immaculate sat before the interview panel, 
the Chairman of the committee asked, 
"Which Smith is yours" and  
Immaculate replied, 
"I am Immaculate Smith. My Dad Tom Smith  is now late he died a poor man..."

But the Chairman cuts in, 
"O my God, you are Tom Smith's daughter? " 
He turned to other members and said 
"This Smith man was the one that signed my membership form
 into the Institute of Chartered Administrators and his 
recommendation earned me where I am today. 
He did all these free. I didn't even know his address, 
he never knew me from Adam. He just did it for me."

He turned to Immaculate, I have no question for you, 
consider yourself as having gotten this job, resume tomorrow, 
your letter will be waiting for you.

Immaculate Smith became the Corporate Affairs Manager of the 
company with two cars, one official and one for private use, 
attached to the office, with a duplex and two drivers and a salary of
 £100,000 per month excluding allowances and other
 costs when she travelled outside England.

After two years of working in the company, 
the Group Managing Director of the company came from 
America to announce his intention to resign and needed a
replacement. A personality with high integrity was sought after, 
again the company's Consultant nominated Immaculate Smith.

In an interview, she was asked the secret of her success and 
the sudden sky rocketing profile and in tears, she replied, 
my Daddy paved these ways for me. It was after he died that I knew 
that he was financially poor but stinkingly rich in 
integrity, discipline and honesty. 

She was asked again, why she is weeping since she is no longer 
a kid as to miss her dad still after a long time. 
She replied, 
"At the point of death, I insulted my dad for being an honest man 
of integrity. I hope he will forgive me in his grave now. 
I didn't work for all these, he did it for me to just walk in.

So finally she was asked,
" Will you follow your father's foot steps as he requested? 
And her simple answer was, 
"l now adore the man, I have a big picture of him in my living room and
 at the entrance of my house. He deserves whatever I have after God.

 it will come however long it may take and it lasts longer.

Integrity, discipline, self control and fear of God makes 
man wealthy, not the fat bank account.

Story: The Old Pump


There is a legend of a man who was lost in the desert, dying of thirst. He stumbled on until he came to an abandoned house. Outside the dilapidated, windowless, weather–beaten, deserted shack was a pump. He stumbled forward and began pumping furiously, but no water came from the well. Then he noticed a small jug with a cork at the top and a note written on the side: "You have to prime the pump with water, my friend. P.S. And fill the jug again before you leave." He pulled out a cork and saw that the jug was full of water.

Should he pour it down the pump? What if it didn't work? All of the water would be gone. If he drank the water from the jug, he could be sure he would not die of thirst. But to pour it down the rusty pump on the flimsy instruction written on the outside of the jug?

Something from inside told him to follow the advice and choose the risky decision. He proceeded to pour the whole jug of water down the rusty old pump and furiously pumped up and down. Sure enough, the water gushed out! He had all he needed to drink. He filled the jug again, corked it and added his own words beneath the instructions on the jug: "Believe me, it really works. You have to give it all away before you can get anything back."

1. The SUM Function

The sum function is the most used function when it comes to computing data on Excel. This function works to sum a group of numbers in a specific set of cells. This means you don’t need to type a long cumbrous formula just to calculate the sum of all the data you need. Because of its popularity, newer versions of Microsoft Excel have a button specifically for this function.
This function is performed by typing the formula on the function bar and highlighting the cells you want summed before clicking “Enter”. You also need to be careful in highlighting cells, as Excel will sum everything you include. If this happens, you can easily click the “Undo” button to reset the values back to its original state.
SUM function

The syntax formula for sum function is “=SUM” (number1, number2, etc.).
In this image, the sum function for the cells C2 through C7 is obtained through the formula “=SUM(C2:C7)”, giving you the result of 33161.

2. The TEXT Function

Text function is a useful tool that helps convert a date (or number) into a text string in a particular format. It falls in the category of string formulas that converts numerical values to a string. It is handy when users need to view numeric data in a readable format. Take note that the “TEXT” formula only works to convert numeric values to text. Therefore, its results cannot be calculated.

The syntax formula for text function is “=TEXT” (value, format_text).
  • “Value” refers to the particular number you wish to convert to text.
  • “Format_text” defines the format of the conversion.
In this example, the user uses a text formula to find the abbreviated day for the date “=TEXT (B2, “ddd”)”.

3. The VLOOKUP Function

VLookup is powerful Excel function that is often overlooked. Users will find it useful when they need to find specific data on a large table. You can also use VLookup to search for names, phone number, or specific data on your sheet. Instead of manually looking for the names and wasting time scrolling through hundreds of data, the VLookup function makes this process faster and more efficient.

The VLookup formula is “=VLOOKUP” (lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, *range_lookup*).
  • “lookup_value” is the data you want to find.
  • “table_array” is the data column where you want to limit your search.
  • “col_index_num” is the column number within the table that you want to return a value from.
  • “range_lookup” is an optional argument that allows you to search for the exact match of your lookup value without sorting the table.

4. The AVERAGE Function

The average function is an extremely useful tool for getting the average value in a range of cells. Like the sum function, it is frequently used in computing and analyzing data on spreadsheet. Basically, the average function works to find the “arithmetic mean” for a group of cells. Aside from the average function, Excel also has the median and mode function.
Average Function

The syntax formula for the average function is “AVERAGE” (number1, number2, etc.).
  • “Number 1” refers to the first number in the range where you want the average.
  • “Number 2” is the additional reference of the average range. You can get an average of up to a maximum of 255 cells.
Additional ­­Examples:
“=AVERAGE (A2:A10)” – computes the average of numbers in cells A2 through A10.
“=AVERAGE (B2: B10, 7)” – computes the average of the numbers in cells B2 through B10 and the number 7.

5. The CONCATENATE Function

This function is a good time saver when you need to combine data from 2 or more cells. Unlike the merge tool which physically merges two or more cells into a single cell, the concatenate function only combines the contents of the combined cells. In the latest version of Excel ( 2016), the concatenate function has been replaced with concat function and will be incorporated in more future versions of Excel.
Average Function
The syntax formula for the concatenate function is “CONCATENATE” (text1, [text2…text_n]),
  • “Text1, Text2…text_n” are the data you want to combine.

Short Story: Good Bye, I Wish You Enough

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter’s departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: “I wish you enough.”The daughter replied, “Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.” They kissed and the daughter leftThe mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, “Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?” “Yes, I have,” I replied. “Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?””I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral,” she said.
When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, “I wish you enough.” May I ask what that means?”
She began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.” She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more.
“When we said ‘I wish you enough’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them”. Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory,
“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.”
She then began to cry and walked away.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person. An hour to appreciate them. A day to love them. And an entire life to forget them.

Pleasure and Pain

ant to make is a great day? Here's a reliable strategy. Do the hard stuff first. Wait a little while for the fun stuff. Much of the value of pleasure is in the anticipation. The longer a pleasure is waited for and anticipated, the more pleasurable is the overall experience.

Interestingly, the same can be said of pain. The longer a difficult, painful experience is delayed, the more painful it becomes. Get it over with quickly, and the pain is significantly lessened.

So, to increase your pleasure and reduce your pain, do the unpleasant things first. Go ahead and get them out of the way. Sure, they're a little painful but you'll only make them more so by delaying them. The fun things can wait a while, and the more time you spend anticipating them, the more pleasurable they'll be.

The "want-tos" will be even better when the "have-tos" are out of the way. So make it a great day. Do the difficult work that will get things accomplished, and enjoy the anticipation of the good things that will come when you're finished.

Worry and Doubt

Worry and doubt were probably the most painful (and completely unnecessary) parts.

Life has a way of manifesting what we think about; so one great tool to deal with worries is to learn to focus on positive things. Another is to empty your mind and open up to solutions and new ways to earn.
So, if you find yourself in the wrong place, uncertain about whether or not you can find your way to the right one:

• Figure out what makes your heart feel great and take one step on that path—today. Don’t make excuses to wait.
• Trust your gut feeling. It’s usually right.
• Focus on possibilities instead of the problems you might face.
• Believe in your dreams and visions. You have to believe in them to create them.
• Take inspired action!

And remember: You are unique. Your perspective of the world is equally unique, and it’s important you share it as only you can. The world needs you to follow your deepest inspiration.

Make Yourself Free from Regrets

hen tomorrow is here, what will you regret not doing today? Five years from today, what will you regret not doing right now?

Regret has no cure, but it can easily be prevented. And the time to do that is now. The most stinging form of regret is the regret for opportunities not seized, for actions not taken.

Prevent regret in the future by making the most of today. Sure there will be disappointments. Yet when you sincerely and honestly give your very best effort to life you won't have to find yourself wondering "why didn't I?"

Live fully in the present with an eye toward the future. Don't waste your time worrying about tomorrow. Rather, live now in such a way that will make tomorrow the best it can possibly be.

Accept the relatively minor inconvenience and discomfort of taking disciplined action today, and tomorrow will be wonderfully free of regret.

Foods that Cleanse the Liver
