Not every day
can be positive. If your life was full of positive days, they would all be
average days, and then they would be
nothing special. However, if bad days, you can truly appreciate the good times.
But, some bad days can be hard-hitting, and
it can take days, months, even years to pull yourself forward. However, to help
you get back on the right foot when you’re in these ruts, or just to help you
remain happier day to day, here are ten things you can do to stay happy.
Sleep
Properly
Although the actual recommended amount of
sleep varies depending on which expert you’re speaking to, the average
guideline is around 8 hours. By going to bed at a proper time, not two in the
morning and then getting up at a proper time can be incredibly beneficial to
both your mind and your
body.
Be
with Happy People
One of the main problems we have is the
fact that if you surround yourself with people that are unhappy with their
lives but refuse to do anything about it, this is the sort of person you
become.
For example, if you were to meet and
surround yourself with people who loved sports, over time, you’ll start to find
that you love sports as well. The same goes for being happy.
Exercise
in the Mornings
Exercise is already such an important part
of life, especially if you’re stuck in an
office chair all day. However, start your day with just 20 minutes of exercise,
perhaps a run or a short yoga session can get the heart rate going, ready for
the day ahead. The more prepared your mind and body is for the day, the happier
you’ll be.
Start
Writing
Writing is becoming increasingly popular
thanks to the mental and emotional benefits that it provides. Whether you’re
writing a story, notes or keeping a journal, writing can help you to release
stress from your day and help to organise your thoughts.
Here are some tools that can help you
improve your writing ability;
An online resource you can use to improve
your grammar skills.
An online tool for generating ideas on what to write about.
An online writing community where you can
meet other like-minded people.
An online writing tool you can use to edit
the content you write.
An online proofreading tool that can help
you pick up errors in your work.
Start
Meditating
Meditating isn’t just for spiritual Buddhas
in the forests and jungles of Nepal; it’s
for everybody. The practice dates back about 5,000 years and meditating for
just 15 minutes every single day can dramatically reduce your stress levels and
your levels of anxiety.
Have
a Proper Breakfast
The food you eat when you wake up in the
morning is the fuel you’ll have for the rest of the day, so you’ll want to make
sure that it counts. Carbohydrates are incredibly important in the diet because
it can help your brain to create and generate serotonin, the ‘happiness’
chemical in our brains.
With this in mind, why not start your day
with a healthy portion of oats, such as porridge, to get your mind and body
ready to go.
Hug
People
As we get older,
and as social media continues to take over every aspect of our lives, we’d much
rather nod at a person that gives them a hug. However,
hugs have been scientifically proven time and time again to affect your levels of happiness actively.
“Hugging is a sign of trust and love and
sharing these emotions with people is guaranteed to make you feel good” shares
Paul Daniels, a personal coach for Elite
Assignment Help.
Allow
Yourself to Try New Things
When we sit and do the same things on a routine day in, day out, we can quickly
become stagnant as people, and it can
leave us feeling really unhappy. By trying out lots of different experiences in
your life, you can proactively keep your mind busy and active, helping you to
stay more positive.
Release
the Importance of Money
Money isn’t everything, and it can cause some serious unhappiness if
you worry about it too much. At the end of the day, money only exists to be
spent so why not spend some of it on other people.
“Giving money to others, especially if that
money is helping somebody else fortunate can help you feel rewarded and as
though you’re spending your money in the right places,”
says Mark Johnson, a psychologist and mental health writer for Top Canadian Writers.
Look
Through Your Photo Albums
