Why extra weight slows down working-class women and men and what to do about it

Multiple studies have shown that people who are overweight are negatively affected by their weight in their lives and in their places of work.

For example, one recent study revealed that women who are overweight perform considerably worse at work than those who are not. The main reason for this, according to the study, was that obese people have shorter endurance times than those who are not obese.

Moreover, being overweight or obese is not only linked to lower productivity. Other negative effects include the need for longer rest breaks, increased likelihood of suffering injury in the workplace, and increased presenteeism (working while sick from diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or other diseases related to obesity).

It is because of these many negative effects that overweight/ obese men and women are preferring to workout and use powerful natural supplements to lose weight for better lives and work experiences.

In this post, I am going to share with you the reasons why extra weight slows down working-class men and women and the three sure ways you can turnaround the situation.

The Reasons Why Being Overweight Is Bad for Hardworking Men and Women

No work is easy; all work is demanding. Therefore, you need to be physically fit to do work. However, life happens. Sometimes we do things or live life in such a way that we find ourselves out of shape and overweight. Being overweight is nothing to be ashamed of (or to be bullied about).

However, it is something that can affect your productivity. Below are the two main reasons why being overweight is bad for working-class men and women.

First, it reduces your endurance times. In other words, you are significantly more likely to fatigue easily when you are obese or overweight than when you are not. So when you are obese or overweight, you will not be able to do the same amount of work than when you are not. Some tasks will just be too much for you.

Second, it leads to excess body fat that affect your body measurements (anthropometry). Being overweight comes with increased body fat everywhere. And increased body fat means lack of balance in some situations, inability to do some tasks, and diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. It also means more weight for you to carry around.

So being overweight will slow you down at work both physically and career-wise. You should address it (your overweightness) before it becomes a more serious problem.

Other ways being overweight can affect you

1.      Being overweight is linked to increased risk of kidney, uterine, breast, and prostate cancer.

2.      Being overweight is linked to increased risk of diabetes (Type 2).

3.      Being overweight can lead to hypertension and heart enlargement.

4.      Being overweight can lead to a decreased fertility rate.

5.      Being overweight is linked to increased risk of arthritis and wear of joints.

6.      Being overweight is associated with heartburn and constipation.

7.      Being overweight is associated with depression and reduces life expectancy.

Three Sure Ways You Can Beat Overweightness or Obesity

1.      Exercise

The number one way to beat overweightness is to exercise. This is because nothing incinerates body fat like exercise.

So make sure you write down a timetable and your train as often as possible throughout the week.

Within a couple of weeks of good exercise, you can lose five, ten or even fifteen kilograms of bad weight. So set a good (and challenging goal) and work hard toward achieving it.

2.      Changing Your Diet

Exercise is important. But exercising without changing your diet is like treating a symptom instead of the disease.

Obesity or overweightness is more of a reflection of a bad diet or bad eating habits than a reflection of lack of exercise.

So before you start exercising, change your diet. Make sure your diet is balanced and that you eat only the calories you need to survive to be able to lose weight.

3.      Using Natural Supplements

A good workout plan and a balanced and restricted diet are good enough to lose weight.

But to lose weight faster so that you can return to working hard for yourself and your loved ones, you can consider natural supplements.
